Born and raised in Istanbul, Turkey, Verda Kayhan studied commercial arts& graphic design in the United States, where she did design work for charitable causes. After receiving her degree, Verda returned to her homeland to set an example for wheelchair users like herself and fight for more accessibility.
A freelance designer, Verda won design awards from Starbucks Coffee, Turkey, two years in a row. Verda, enchanted by five-and- dime stores,found herself chasing after unusual materials like burlap, knots & bolts, beads, buttons, and fish line. Inspired by her passion for non-traditional materials, Verda is now designing an eco-friendly line of handmade tabletop décor.
